A Word or Two About Condensation
  • Condensation on the inside (Prime Window)

- Too much moisture on the inside (use bath fans, range hoods, calibrate or eliminate in-house humidification)

- Leaky or non-existent storm windows

- GOAL IS TO ELIMINATE THIS IF POSSIBLE- it can be very hard on the windows.

- Seal up storms (or get new) but leave the weep holes clear (or new storms)

  • Condensation on the storms

- Caused by air-leakage from the inside to the outside.

- Check internal weather-stripping, especially at the meeting/check rail

- Secondary weather-stripping can be effective
